As you may have guessed, my name is Brenda, the Office Ninja turned Online Business Manager. My 16-year journey in the corporate world began as an administrative assistant where I learned how to keep the backend of a business running smoothly, performing general office duties, and managing a team. Little did I know, this would be the foundation for my future success.
In 2011, my interest in marketing and branding ignited when I joined a promotional branding company as a Business Development Account Manager. This experience opened my eyes to the importance of developing brand awareness, sales, marketing, and most importantly, time management. I leveraged my sales and development skills to take my career to the next level by joining a local consulting firm as a Business Development Account Manager in the spring of 2015.
I worked with several government agencies at the consulting firm to facilitate program delivery using consultants. This is where I learned the importance of attention to detail, the full cycle of recruiting, and writing a high-profile request for proposal (RFP) responses worth millions of dollars while managing a roster of over 20 consultants on payroll. Not to brag… but I was a true rockstar, and my expertise didn't go unnoticed.
All the while, I had been working independently as a virtual assistant since 2010. I became the "Office Ninja" for several small businesses, creating processes and procedures, performing general administrative duties, recruiting, and building an online database. My vast experience in the corporate world combined with my expertise as a virtual assistant made me the perfect candidate to become an Online Business Manager.
Fast forward to today, and I am working full-time on my own as an OBM. I am passionate about helping newbie virtual assistants start their own journey by becoming virtual assistants.
